Continuously Transposed Conductors

Sam Dong's Continuously Transposed Conductors (CTC) is a product that continuously transposes at least 5 strands to 84 strands of conductors by coating insulation varnish on cold-processed flat copper wires made of oxygen-free copper produced by Sam Dong and covered with insulating paper and other insulating materials.
We also manufacture products with specialized insulating materials, such as polyester threads designed to reduce oil pockets and improve cooling.

Features
  • Reduced transformer manufacturing time
  • Reduced size and cost relative to transformer capacity
  • Reduce electrical losses in transformers
  • Improved winding workability and easy handling
  • Increased mechanical strength of windings (self-fused continuously transposed conductor)
Key Features

When applied to ultra-high voltage transformers, minimizing the transposition work during winding operations results in savings in manufacturing time and costs.
By reducing Eddy Current losses through the multi-transposition of conductors and minimizing circulation current losses due to differences in the length of each sub-strand, there is a decrease in load losses.
The reduced use of insulation in winding contributes significantly to cooling efficiency after winding compared to conventional flat copper wires.

Purpose

Specialty transformers, including extra-high voltage transformers, distribution transformers, gas-insulated transformers, and mobile transformers
